The current version of MovieGeo does not ask you to create an account or submit your name, email address, payment information, or precise device location. Your map guesses are made as part of the game and are not presented as your real-world location.
If you email us at play@moviegeo.com, we may use the information in your message only to reply, investigate a problem, or improve the service.
Technical information
Like most websites, the hosting and security infrastructure may process basic request information such as an IP address, browser type, device type, requested pages, timestamps, and security events. This information is used to deliver the site, maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and understand technical problems.
MovieGeo may use privacy-focused, anonymous product analytics to understand page visits, game starts, completed rounds, completion rates, score ranges, play duration, and share-button use. We do not send map-click coordinates, film answers, names, email addresses, or precise device location to analytics. Automatic interaction capture, session recording, and user profiles are disabled.
Cookies and local storage
The current public game does not require advertising cookies and does not use analytics storage to build a personal profile. Anonymous analytics operate in cookieless mode. Local storage is used only to keep your current daily-game progress on your device. Essential infrastructure may use strictly necessary security mechanisms when required to protect or deliver the site.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information. Technical and anonymous usage data may be handled by infrastructure and analytics providers that help host, secure, measure, or operate the website. It may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect the service, or address fraud and security threats.
